Seen from here
Seeing from here”, is often disturbing and challenging for me.
It’s disturbing, because I see the level of need that exists in our country, in our communities, and in the hidden places where people have lost everything and given up all hope.
It’s challenging, because I know that much more needs to be done. And I ask myself, “How can I do more”.
At that point, the answer to my question always comes from the same two sources.
The first is in living by the words of our Salvation Army founder: ‘Heart to God, hand to man’.
The second is in the knowledge that I’m not alone. I have wonderful generous people like you who continuously help me to do more. I can do little in isolation, but I can do much together with you.
So my message to you in this issue of our Spring Reporter is to thank you.
Thank you for helping to bring the hope of Spring into the lives of people in the hidden places of despair. Thank you for not subscribing to the common way of indifference to suffering, and the turning of a blind eye. Thank you for your generosity – generosity of spirit, and generosity of a hand up in the many ways that your donations make a real difference in the lives of our brothers, sisters and children in need.
Thank you.
