College for Officer Training

Leadership in The Salvation Army is provided by commissioned and ordained officers who are recognised as fully accredited ministers of religion. Having heard and responded to the calling of God to serve through The Salvation Army, these dedicated men and women of God undergo a vigorous programme of testing and training to equip them for the special service that is required of them.

The College for Officer Training, based in Braamfontein, Johannesburg, has responsibility for this vital task in the life of the organisation. Under the leadership of the Training Principal, a dedicated team provides a programme of spiritual formation that equips aspiring officers for a life dedicated to prayer, study of God’s word, evangelism, setting a good example, and zealous work.
