Wash Project Coordinator (3 Year Fixed Term Contract) – Eastern Cape Division
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS
Grade 12 and a bachelor’s degree in environmental health, Public Health, Civil Engineering, Water Resource Management, or a related field.
Minimum of 3 years' experience in a senior position involving community project management.
Experience in WASH programme management and community development, including water and sanitation initiatives.
Knowledge of WASH Rights-Based Approaches, hygiene behaviour change communication tools, SPHERE and HAP standards.
Technical skills in humanitarian WASH contexts, and experience in using GIS software is desirable.
Strong skills in community mobilisation and working with local authorities and stakeholders.
Excellent leadership, financial management, planning, and reporting skills.
Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
Willingness to travel to rural areas approximately 80% of the time.
RESPONSIBILITIES (inter alia)
Oversee management and implementation of the WASH Project in line with objectives, timeframe, and budget.
Develop work plans and key project documentation (forms, guidelines, beneficiary selection criteria, etc.).
Supervise project team, contractors, drilling works, and liaise with government bodies and suppliers.
Lead water quality testing, pump testing, borehole installation, and monitor project performance.
Prepare and submit quarterly and annual narrative and financial reports.
Support the formation and training of operation and maintenance committees.
Conduct field visits, assessments, community reviews and participatory project reviews.
Ensure procurement and budget expenditures align with donor and internal financial guidelines.
Prepare procurement and budget forecasts and track expenditures.
Perform any other duties assigned to you by your Line Manager.
PROJECTED REMUNERATION PACKAGE
R25 000,00 – R30 000,00 per month
