Do you remember?

Do you remember being a young person?

We’ve no doubt that you were filled with hopes for your future. Perhaps you even had ambitions to change the world? You were at the threshold of your adult life.

Sadly today, in an environment of no employment for our young people, those hopes and dreams die. Sometimes fast, sometimes painfully slowly. And changing the world becomes impossible.

Around this time last year we told you
about a group of young people who
took part in our Salvation Army project,
Nal’ithemba (Here is Hope) helping
them to start a successful business.

Nal’ithemba is here thanks to exceptional Salvation Army supporters like you. People who understand the value of hope and are willing to give hope.

Right now, you’re helping us mentor a new group of 16 young individuals from different backgrounds (some of them homeless), but who complement one another.

Their business idea is a food truck that will mean they can produce fast but nutritious food in their community.

During April, Nal’ithemba started their training. This included preparing a business plan, drawing up a budget, registering the business, opening a bank account and marketing their product and service.

The learning has been both empowering
and life changing
in giving this group
hope, which has grown into a sense of
purpose. They’re also now attending
church services and giving back by
helping with daily feeding at their
local Corps.

In the next six months, this group will be trained in creating their menu, buying the ingredients, preparing and packaging the food.

To help mentor them through the feasibility
to the two-month trial for viability, we’re
asking for your partnership with your
donation made online by clicking here
.

And if you could make a monthly donation,
your help will stretch even further!

Lack of employment opportunities and the loss of hope in our youth is a double tragedy.

Firstly, it’s a tragedy for the individuals themselves in not being able to realise their hopes and dreams for their future. And the wider tragedy is the loss to our country of people who could transform and enrich our society with their abilities.

The Nal’ithemba project needs to grow and evolve with commitment to the core vision of giving our youth the skills to turn hope into reality for all our futures.

Those young people who will benefit from
that evolution and growth are depending
on support like yours. And you can
give that support by clicking here now to send your gift of hope.

We guarantee that you won’t be disappointed in the return on your investment in hope.

With every Rand counting in growing opportunities of hope for South Africa’s youth, please will you be as generous as you possibly can?

Nal’ithemba youth started their training in April, and the learning has been empowering and life changing in giving this group hope, which has grown into a sense of purpose.  Your donation and partnership will help to mentor this group so that they can achieve their goals and dreams of success.
