Giving our children affirmation
Carl Sithole Children’s Home is a haven of safety and peace. The 87 children aged between three and 18 years here come into our care through the Courts and Child Welfare. Sadly, they are generally orphaned, neglected, abused or abandoned. Some are HIV positive. For many, this is the first time they have a place they can call home, and know safety, security and love.
It’s hard to replace a natural family in a child’s life. But thanks to your gifts of support, every child at Carl Sithole finds genuine care and unconditional love to go forward in life.
Children need affirmation as they develop, and in December we held an awards evening at Carl Sithole Home.
Awards were given to girls and boys who had achieved excellent academic results, and those who had excelled in sport. In addition, there were awards for good behaviour and for those who throughout the year had lent a helping hand where needed.
Along with the award certificates, small gifts were kindly sponsored.
We wish that you could have been physically present, along with our leadership members as well as sponsors and friends.
But you were certainly present in spirit.
Affirmation encourages children to be their best and grow their personal gifts whatever they may be.
